Nandagram or Nandagao is the village where Sri Nanda Baba (Sri Krishna’s father) lived with his family.
In this beautiful place, Sri Mahadeva Sankara (Lord Shiva) pleases his worshipful deity Sri Krishna and asked Him for the boon of having darshan of his Lord’s childhood pastimes. The Lord Sri Krishna ordered Mahadeva to situate himself in Nadagao in the form of a hill. Mahadeva followed this order and became Nandisvara Hill, where Lord Sri Krishna performed His sweet childhood pastimes along with the brajavasis and His gopa friends.
There are many lila-sthan situated in Nadagao such as Nanda Bhavan (the palace of Nanda Maharaja), Nanda Kunda, Pavan Sarovar, Vrinda Devi Kunda, Ter Kadamba, among others.
