Carefully avoid the offenses which can spoil your visit to the holy place. Compiled by the great spiritual teacher Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur, these offenses are disturbing the dham, as well as its residents and visitors. Please study and avoid them.

  • To disrespect one’s spiritual master who reveals the dham to the dham-aparadadisciple
  • To think that the holy dham is temporary.
  • To commit violence towards any of the residents of the holy dham or to any of the pilgrims who come there, or to think that they are ordinary people. (Littering is also violence towards the dham-vasis)
  • To perform mundane activities while living in the holy dham.
  • To utilize the dham for personal economic development by commercializing deity worship and sankirtana in the holy dham.
  • To think that the holy dham belongs to a mundane country or province; to think that the Lord’s dham is equal to a place connected with some demigod, or to attempt to measure the area of the holy dham.
  • To commit sinful acts while residing in the holy dham
  • To consider Vrindavan-dham as different from Navadvipa-dham.
  • To blaspheme the sastras that assert the glorious position of the holy dham.
  • To be faithless and think that the glories of the dham are imaginary.
